INSTALLATION
SELF-EXTRACTING EXE
If the INSTALL.BAT file is on the floppy disk, change to
the drive with the program disk, type INSTALL followed by the
drive letter you want to install it to and a colon (:).
Example:
INSTALL C:
will unarchive the files into the \HOMEWRKS directory on drive
C. If the directory does not exist, the archive will try to
create it.
If the install program is not on the disk, or you want to
manually install the file, use the following procedures:
o Change to the drive that holds the program disk.
o To install to a directory on the C: drive, type the
filename followed by the drive name and the direct-
ory to install it to. For example, if the program
filename is HWPP100.EXE and the directory name is
HOMEWRKS, type:
HWPP100 C:\HOMEWRKS
o To install to a floppy disk, type the filename and
drive:
HWPPn B: (n is the version number)

self-extracting EXE (.PAK, .ZIP, .LZH, etc.) you will have
to use an unarchiving file (PACK, UNZIP, etc.).
If you have the archive utility PAK and the filename has the
.PAK, .ZIP, or .ARC extension, type:
PAK E HWPPn C:\HOMEWRKS (n is the version number)
to extract all the files to the HOMEWRKS directory on your C
drive
OR:
PAK E HWPPn B: (n is the version number)
to extract the files to drive B.
LOADING THE PROGRAM
To load the Personal Possessions program, type:
HWPPn [/m] [/c] (n is the version number.)
/m switch for monochrome monitors
/c switch for color monitors
To load the program named HWPP1 for a monochrome display, type:
hwpp1 /m
The first time the program is loaded you will be asked to select
your monitor type if you do not use the m or c switch. This will
enable the program to display in colors readable by your monitor.
Some colors do not display on a monochrome monitor even if you have
a color card installed in your computer.
Your option will be stored in the configuration file until it is
changed.
To change from a monochrome to color monitor (or vice versa) at
a later time, use the /m or /c switch when loading the program and
it will store that option until you change it again.
